Jimi Hendrix and Sly Stone were two geniuses with several things in common: both American, black, same age, born on the West Coast, psychedelic, who revolutionized R&R by fusing Black music (Blues, R&B, Soul) with White (Dylan, The Beatles, etc..). They both had afros, and last but not least, they wore almost the same identical top (white, with the bits hanging, Sioux-style) at Woodstock!!! Did you guys ever notice that???
