You are wrong. Congress must establish facts before making law, and getting witnesses to talk is part of establishing the facts.Congress needs to know what the administration did in our name, and why they did it. That's why Yoo must answer the question.

This isn't funny at all. The issue here, in case you don't know, is that Yoo advised our esteemed gov't that it was indeed OK to torture suspects, only we wern't going to call it torture anymore. Everyone knows he believe the president has a right to torture people. We know this because he has said so himself in previous interviews with the media. The point of these questions is to get him to say it under oath, but the moral coward stalled his way out of anwering.

Oh, so it was funny to you because he kind of tried to determine the definition of 'is', like Clinton? Yeah, I guess that would have been pretty funny. But it's not what happened.That goofy Congressman asked a professor at Berkley a very silly question that the Congressman should already know the answer to. Yoo didn't want to give the question any creedence, so he didn't! He gave Conyers a verbal slap. Professor Yoo rocks.

uh, that's jaurezrt to you. let me explain what is so obvious to the rest of us. the point of asking a ridiculous question like that is to make him answer it. it was a simple yes or no answer, but either one would be wrong, since this is john yoo we're talking about. he refused to be pigeon-holed, clumsily trying to focus on the meaning of everyday words instead of answering the question, so good for him. unfortunately, he comes of looking like a scumbag, which he is.
