One of my favorite pieces by one of my favorite composers! I wish I could find a good youtube video of the violin sonata and the concerto for the left hand.

This is some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard... my first time hearing anything by Ravel... I am amazed.

I know that in English string quartet designs that is designed in french as "quatuor à cordes". But what is displaying is when nowhere the original title of an opus is mentionned. If i have not made a comment, nobody would know that the tittle of this opus of Ravel were "quatuor pour cordes en fa majeur". Now it is not the case and it's quite well!

There's no need to get so defensive. It is, I'm sorry to say, a rather objective title. "Quatuor pour cordes" is the same as "string quartet" and "streichquartett," just as "symphonie" is the same as "symphony." They are simply different languages. It is not a subject title such as "Jeux D'eau" or "Gaspard de la Nuit." Movements are never translated (from whatever language), but objective titles usually are.

Does anybody know if there's a DVD or CD of this performance? Considering all of the performances of that night with the exception of the clarinet and quartet piece are on YouTube, I guess there's a DVD. But does anybody know where to find it? I know it was recorded by Unitel, but that's about it!
