This woman is certainly a noble person. It is true that alcohol can dig in and grab complete control of people's lives sometimes. Day to Day, and sometimes meal to meal is how I try to measure my own successes dealing with the alcohol allure. Sobriety is definately worth it. I hope fellow alcoholics don't beat themselves up if they 'fall off' every once and a while, long as they get back up and fight the good fight. This woman deserves and has my UTMOST respect, truly inspirational.

You are very brave. My father and sister are alcoholics and my mother was also - she died because of alcohol and drug abuse. Your strength is amazing. Stay strong!

You are very sensible.............stay off the alcohol as it will destroy you if you don't.

Irenakoleck, in my experience different segments of the health and medical professions favour one particular explanation - psychologists usually go for the behavioural explanation while your medical doctors prefer the genetic approach. Every alcoholic's story is made to conform to an approach - it helps the professional understand their patient. Once you've told your story upteen times, one cares less about the 'truth' and more about recovering. |
