Not that it matters,but actually he came from Poland where he played with the national team of Croatia.The whole team left Frankfurt(Germany)with an airplane but he didn't and said he'd catch up later in Croatia riding with the car. The accident accured when a truck came from the other side of the autoroute and landed on his side.They had no chance at all and he didn't wear his seatbelt.Some years ago on my road to Croatia i saw the spot where it happened.There is now a cross and many flowers

I agree the quality of teams in the Olympics was lame this year. No SERBIA, weak Croatia, Russia sucked...the quality all in all has gone down...Petrovic was a GREAT PLAYER..if u dont know him you DO NOT KNOW basketballSadly while he let his girlfriend drive him home after a game in Germany she ran the Volkswagen they were in, into an oncoming car killing Petrovic...who was the passenger..

Bottom line is, this team was stronger than some of predecessors, the chemistry was better, and they were better coached. I'll tip my hat to Spain too, they weren't going to play two crappy games in a row against the US. They really gave us a run for our money, but good thing we had Kobe and Wade on our roster hitting those big threes.

That Spanish team we beat twice, once in the Finals was very talented, they had like four or five guys who are either NBAers or on NBA rosters. Argentina has fallen off since 04, I'll grant you that, but they still had Scola, Ginobili and Noc and they still played us pretty tough. They mopped the floor with Greece, the same Greece team that shocked them in 06 and their domination of Germany almost compares to some of the whippings the 92 team put on its opponents.
