Who got the thigh piece of the turkey? What was that about? He tauhou enei whakaaturanga ki au, otira, he aha te tikanga o nga mahi i mahia e ratou?

Personally I find these kinds of traditions to be fascinating. So much of a nations culture, history, and even homeland geography, can be seen in their music, dance, and song.

Isn't funny just how ignorant people can be. But I can let ignorance pass, but stupidity thats a different ball park. To comment about these two cultures is your freedom, but don't make yourself look like an idiot when you know little to nothing about them. I must say majority of the arguments and comments expressed is just plain stupid. The reason why I say that is because I was there at this cultural event and you guys didn't see what went on before and after this 40 sec. of youtube play.

I must admit that a bunch of these previous comments are pretty hillarious. It shows me just how prevalent ignorance is around the world of both the Hawaiian and Maori cultures. Don't get me wrong its ok, we can't expect everyone to know everything of every single culture on this earth, I know I don't. But don't be stupid and judge two cultures on a youtbe video that you just so happen to stumble upon, or information you picked up from your two week vacation in Hawaii.

we all originated from the same people you idiot. the language is different the dancing is different the culture and lifestyle is different. lets say that maybe the maori people are still living the true culture of that time when they left and the hawaiian culture changed. so therefore maybe the maori culture and people are still living the culture of that time while the hawaiians are not. you can take that story anywhere and make up different story's we dont really know. maori is maori.

You know what bae is you eatass fool. As you already know, bae is yet another slang term associated with Maori - pera ki te kupu chur. I suggest you look up the meaning for slang before you try and act like you know something. Slang is a widely accepted form of terminology used for expression, and in the context that I've used it it's purpose is under a humerous light. It's likely that it's near Hawai'i, and if you want to be arrogant and say you've learnt better, take it up with kaumatua.

wtf is a Bae? its not slang its stupid.who says rection instead of rekon? thats slang you inbred twit.wha is slang for what dumbass halfbreed inbred.I learned better. Hawaiiki is myth, it is not Hawaii because Hawaii didnt exist til 500 years before Aotearoa was discovered by the Maori.most likly, the maori came from Northern Asia not southern.
brathaspartan (July 6, 2008 at 6:32 pm)
Bae fuck up, it's called slang son. "Wha" is not a kupu either if you want to play it like that. "They" say? Well from what I've learned, it's likely that it is near Hawai'i. Maybe you've learned different.
