I've lived & worked all over this country. I was in Fort Myers/ Naples from 2002-2004. A good experience but I truly felt isolated (somehow) from what was going on in the rest of the U.S. That's exactly why most go there, I understand and that's great. But for me, I needed more thriving culture, energy & community for the long haul. If you're looking for escapism, this is it. Nothing like the sunset over the Gulf, rest assured. Saw the peak of the real estate boom, too. Stay strong, Fla!

I went there for the zombies....no kidding. Downtown around mainstreet was featured in Romero's 1985 zombie fest 'Day of the dead'. Nice town.
