Considering both were Post-Eva, they were no doubt influenced by it. However, they are not the same, not by how their characters are portrayed, not by how they ended, and not in their respective messages, all of which fell short of what Eva was, and is.Just because two shows are confusing, does not make them the same.

No, it is special, it re-defined mecha design, broke censor barriers allowing shows like Cowboy Bebop, Hellsing, and Samurai Champloo to ever see the drawing board, has earned $2 Billion Worldwide, making it GAINAX's most succesful anime to date, and saved the anime industry at large by making it ANIME again.And that's not including the reason for which it was made...

Umm no, there's about ten million anime exactly like Eva. Betterman and Rahxephon are pretty nice examples. And Death Note has no where near the embarrassing batshit insane fan following Eva has.

When i saw the for the first time i to thinked:WTF is going on!With that Angels that normally are not Evil,and that boy with all his flashbacks,really in the beginning i didn't know what was going on,but now i know it.

Actually you'd be wrong there.... Death Note is EXTREMELY OVERRATED and it sucks to the highest degree..NGE is special and no anime comes close to being similar
