It is amazing that only 35 of the 97 men and women on board, plus one member of the ground crew, died.
bonbonmania (September 5, 2008 at 12:11 am)
You're right, it's "massive smoking wreckage" ...
bonbonmania (September 5, 2008 at 12:07 am)
You know, you really have to learn the history of the time, what people said, and how they reported things were different.
roosevelthighschool (September 4, 2008 at 7:34 pm)
What exactly happened and how many people died?
deej7 (September 3, 2008 at 4:37 am)
yeah it's smoking. nobody swore in the 30's, c'maw!
AnticDispossession (September 2, 2008 at 3:22 pm)
Ha ha ha. I heard "fucking wreckage" also. I guess there weren't a lot of blooper reels back from the 30s though. He probably says smoking.

thats also wrong nevin1343it was the high flammability of the fabric cover. it was made of a cotton substrate with an aluminised cellulose acetate butyrate covering. the fabric was ignited by electrical activity in the air. the hydrogen just aided the ignition.newb
Nevin1343 (August 30, 2008 at 6:37 pm)
lol that's not right at allthe hindenburg had static electricity when it touched the metal pole thing which zapped it which caused all the hydrogen to burn and explode. lol hydrogen doesn't burn when it comes into contact with oxygen |
