Heh both just entertainment fighting imo.I'd rather see matches where everything but eyepokes/groinkicks etc is allowed, no gloves, no protection etc and wide open places where the fights take place, not in some small ring or cage.we'll see some more traditional martial arts shine than ;)

I strongly doubt so.If it is karate he changed quite a bit in there.with most important the way he stands, makes some attacks less effective.(cramped up instead of straight upper body, so less turning power=less power in hits+kicks.)A load of his kicks I am familiar with thought.but those probably exist in a load of different karate, tkd and even muay styles.

anyway, I understand why people want to mention his background. When you see idiots like Misaki wanting to diminish Akiyama by claiming "Japanese are stronger". Japan has to grow up and treat all people with same respect despite there background and Korea should know that nationalism doesn't bring a lot of good. Look at Japan one century ago.

Racist Korean and few Japanese filled with hate for each other never stop barking. When they discover someone that has achieved something, they will go back to Big Bang to find if he ate something made in korea or japan. BTW, I like kimchi, that makes me Korean also. It is the same pathetic story like the one in Wikipedia where you read always about "American-jew", "German-jew" and crap like that. If the guy is a criminal or a thief working in Wall Street he becomes only American, German etc.

Claiming that Akiyama is Korean is the same as claiming all Americans are Irish or English. His is a fourth-generation ethnic Korean for Christ's sake. That means four generation born in Japan. If your grandfather is born in a country and your father and yourself also, you are not anymore what your grand grand grand father was. Get over it racist people. He is Japanese [by blod also] because he born and grew there like four generation before him.
