you know what...when I first bought her love supreme cd back in 93, i read a review from time magazine that said she was a diana ross with lungs....so, i think you are accurate with what you stated: "overtones of Diana Ross when she [Chante] sings."I think so also.

There was also an artist in the early 90's who covered this. It was on the pirate radio for years here in UK. Does anyone remember that version & where can I find it. Its where she went REALLY high ! ( it wasnt deniece )

I like Chante modernized it w/ a more up-to-date hiphop swag but kept the classic soprano voice..nice cover kuz i hate wen artist butcher classic tunes
