Now that Croatia opened the doors of the old republic, ragusan aristrocracy is coming back to their lands. 'Republic of Ragusa' will finally reborn after 200 years of inactivity. The most powerfull economies of world will support it in order to extend their control over the Balkans.Dubrovnik will be its capital city and croat the official language, at least at early years.'Non bene pro toto libertas venditur auro' (liberty is not for sale for any amount of gold).

According to Austro-Hungarian census' in early 1900s there were barely more than 10-15 italian speaking citizens in Dalmatia, Dubrovnik included. Croats were numbered well over 500,000 and made over 3/4s of the population.

LOL! First of all that is not true, Dubrovnik never had a large Italian population, except perhaps during WW2 when Italian fascists tried to colonize Dalmatia. Second the Slavic inhabitants since the age of nationalism identified as Croats, what they thought about their supposed "Serbian identity" they showed at the unveiling of the Gundulic monument in 1893.

Prior to Tito (the bastard), Ragusa had a large Italian population. The Slavic inhabitants were of Paganian orgins and identified themselves as Serbs.
