Moron, this piece was inspired on Cornwall's folclore (like the Knights of the Round table).

wagner, influenced by schopenahuer, which made the distinction in a work of genius and specifically in the experience of the music between music and and abstract ideas and opinions. when you hear a piece of music and really go into it you may have a special experience in which you can feel and 'see' all experience in all times. but this has nothing to do with the "music in itself" which according to schopenhauer express the Will, the "in itself" of nature.

I think certain ideas of Wagner are inseparable from his music, because his musical philosophy is the very framework for his music - the idea of harmony as being emanated from all entities, and each one having an individual, exotic harmonic identity is what is behind the idea of the leitmotif, and thus, is in Wagner's music. I think this spiritually charged philosophy is a sign of the greatest sort of genius.

One of my absolute favorite pieces of music of all time and that will never change...

If there's anyone whose music absolutely cannot be separated from his philosophy and ideas it's Wagner. If you don't like his ideas, then you don't like Wagner. To try and pay him a "complement" (as if such a man of greatness needed to be "complemented"!) as a "musical genius" while calling his ideas "retarded" is simply to be a philistine and a hypocrite. And if you're only on about his anti-semitism (which couldn't have been milder and more innocuous), you really are retarded.

He said a compliment to Wagner in a way anyone could understand because its actually 100% true and you actually call him retarded?Well, coming from a person whose nick is "truefakeness" what could we expect?Cheers. |
