too right i must say. Even the metal music (excapt motley crue) wasnt badly influential. Def Leppard David Lee Roth, Winger, they all made people feel great and didn't corrupt :D

I remember the days of Kroq and I grew up behind the Orange Curtin and I think back to then I would not want it any other way. I think we were lucky to have this music in our youth. It takes me back to those days and always makes me smile.

Sparks were huge in the UK in the 1970's - moving there for a while. 38 years on the brothes are still playing (well too - check out "When Do I Get To Sing My Way"). They have reinveted themselves several times from quasi punk, to glam-rock, to new wave, to orchestral and swing.

Sparks hit big in the UK!!! They still sell out concerts here with their brilliant new music.

Yeah, poor kids. Thank goodness we didn't have Rihanna and Timerlake in those days. Just good feeling music.

Jane Wiedlin is stunning. Love her voice, too.

I don't know, I thought that Sparks were pretty popular in the early 70's as a Glam band, who morphed into Disco and eventually New Wave. Oh and Oingo Boingo was and is the best band to ever come out of So Cal.

I couldn't agree more, couldn't live back down there on a bet,but wouldn't trade growing up behind the "Orange Curtain" either.Spent my late teens and (very) early 20's listening to the "ROQ of '80's" and still think Oingo Boingo was the best band ever.Sparks in that era were spectacular, the whole album (yeah still have it on vynil) "Angst in my Pants" is fantastic, and funny as hell. |
