I hadn't heard of a "Millbank bag" before, but I do use a fine mesh for pre-filtering. The drops are 5% Phosphoric acid, the other is 2%Chlorine Dioxide. Tastless and odorless. 2-30ml bottles treat something like 200liters. My mistake though, although PUR makes something similar, the set I bought is by a company called Pristine.By back won't be better in time for any winter camping (hoped to solo Algonquin Pk. in the Adirondacks in Feb), but should be ok by spring.

Ouch! Hope your back gets better. The pur 2 part drop is that Iodine? You should get a millbank bag to filter large debri out then boil it or use the tablets. That is probley the lightest way. I have a waterworks EX and just bought the millbank bag to pre filter the water to get the tea color out and add filter life.

Ouch! Hope your back gets better. Pur droplet is that like the tablets? If I were you Id buy a Millbank bag and boil your water. That would probley be the lightest. I just bought one to get debri out of my water then use my Msr waterworks to filter the bacteria, (it saves filter life). I got mine on ebay today.

Waterworks EX? With the 2-stage ceramic filter? They advertise it as the best filtration....very nice! I bought the PUR 2- part droplet system this year for ultralight packing. Just had back surgery, so I need to lighten up quite a bit for next year. tried it a couple of time and seems to work well.
