dude, I'm telling you, the hottie girlfriend is frigid! his character gets a taste of the dark side of sex life and its GAME OVER for his old chick (whom he probably really loves but the sex addiction trumps...ask David Duchovany about that!)

Forget the vampire stuff, my interpretation is that he gets in a fight with his chick, then bumps into a prostitute--whom he follows back to a sex club--and becomes a sex addict and all he wants to do is screw every prostitute he meets and his old (boring and non-adventureous and bitchy) chick just doesn't fit into this new lifestyle.
