You're right, monkeys55. I agree with BillBuckley when he said,"If Bach isn't in heaven, then I don't want to go there."I first heard Bach when I was eight, thecadenza from the 5th Brandenberg, and I'llnever forget it.

ever since i started listening to bach, I was somehow deeply convinced that all his music was... correct. Right. Perfect. Mathematically truthful. It's like he didn't make any musical decisions, he just did what was right... or perhaps what was told to him by a higher power somehow. Channeled? Baroque is about the beauty, not the emotion. I get no emotion from this, except the awe and bliss one gets from experiencing something beautiful.

It's great that you've checked it, since I haven't any music books or sheets on hand. Thanks again!

Actually, it dawned on me after I posted that some of these pieces are in Bach's Klavierbuchlein (Keyboard books). These books are a compilation, a mix, of Bach's works. But, one can also get all the French Suite's in just one book.

Probably you're right and I recalled it wrong. It's long since I played it. Perhaps I just need to check again. Thanks for info. |
