I use the screw type because they didn't have the cam when I bought my griffin. Lot's of folks prefer the cam since it's quicker to set the hook. You can get a lot more torque on the hook too, but that may not be a good thing. I really think it's what you get used to but others may have different ideas. If I were buying today, I would probably get the cam version of the Montana Mongoose.
