I propose an entry into the lexicon of American English: Whenever anyone answers a question in nonsensical gibberish, they are "pullin' a Palin". (I used it myself today; though I admit I did not drop the *g*.)

Tina Fey seriously did such a great job imitating her. If you look at the SNL parody of this interview, it's literally word-for-word. "And if that doesn't scare the hell out of you, it should." Holy crap, this guy is harsh, but it's hilarious. xD

I live in Anchorage. It's difficult to understand from the lower 48. Wasilla is a tiny white place 70 miles south of Anchorage, which is the largest city in Alaska. It's extremely diverse, in fact, 96 cultures. Unlike Wasilla, which is 98% white and rural. She was raised there. Wasilla is in the Anchorage Burough and her being mayor of Wasilla is a puppet position. The decisions come out of Anchorage so she basically was an employee of the Muni.

I understand that when Palin was chosen as the candidate for VP, there were two demonstrations in Alaska. One was a group demonstrating for Palin--there were about 50 of them. The other was a group demonstrating against her, they numbered in the thousands and was one of the largest demonstrations that's ever been held in Alaska. They held up signs like "I voted for Palin once--NEVER AGAIN!"

hosfbd111- I've thought that there is a group of people who want to "relate" to the government, as someone who would 'fit in' or 'hang out' with them. This is unrealistic. I want a leader or leaders. I'm not concerned if we're good buddies.Anyway, that's the only thing I can think of. Anyone else???

Does anyone here have a theory as to why, in the past decade or so, Republicans have come to regard ignorance (ie: Bush, Palin) not as a problem, but, as a badge of honor ??Puzzling ....
