Thanks for your reply, sorry for my delay in responding. I agree, Steve is not refering directly to Maitreya but to the spirit that I and many others believe he is. As Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita, "Whenever there is a withering of the law and an uprising of lawlessness on all sides, then I manifest Myself...I come to birth age after age."
