Kempff was not a member of the nazy party but lived, like tens of millions of germans, in his native country during the war, in his case in "inner exile" in Thurnau with his wife, Helene, and their seven children.

Kempf is a true master. not only is every note just as intended, he expresses it in a way nobody else does.

I agree. I was shocked though when I learned that kempff was a nazi embracer.. but I still love his recordings. my favorite beethoven recordings ever :(

i couldn't hear the last notes because the loud notes before it echoed and covered up the last notes
