Actually, it's kind of irrelevant, because her obsession goes so far beyond sexual attraction. If you watch the movie, you realize that Barbara is getting real pleasure from controlling Sheba, in a way only a psychopath really could. To say that romantic attachment is the only force at work here is really simplifying it. Just because you're gay doesn't mean you're crazy--Barbara and her motives cannot be explained simply with, "She's a lesbian," and they should not.

after watching the film,i wanted to kill judi dench.she piss me off and scares me to death.plus she's ugly.who wants to be judi dench friend anyway? i still like the lovely cate the great.sorry i got carried away by the film the content of the film is very disturbing
