Alvin Lee is certainly a badass. However, he is definately one of those "canned lick" players. What I mean is he is very repetitive in his "improvisations." That is my only issue with Alvin Lee. Like I said, he is a badass.

A crying shame that he is forgotten. In my opinion the GREATEST American blues guitarist and one of the greatest guitarists period. SRV is slightly overrated in my opinion. No one seems to see that SRV is very repetitive and sometimes extremely derivative in his solos. Bloomfield was on another plane entirely. Find me two Bloomfield solos that sound the same!

Don't ever put john mayer in the same sentence as the TRULY GREAT Michael Bloomfield! |
