weird ending, it's a quiet good ending but i prefer the real one, this one is everybody is happy at the end...

If you want the deep look inside, read the book. It's excellent, and the ending will give you serious chills. Why they changed it in the movie is completely beyond me. The blatent religious pandering in the theatrical release is pathetic.

I think that this ending is far more intelligent and propose a deep look inside. In the end, its always a lot easier to grab a grenade and die for your beliefs than to accept that you can be wrong and let the different ones live in peace.(I AM LISTENING says Smith at 2:54) What a paradox. Hollywood prefers to let your Hero become a kamikaze-bomb-man than a peace-seeker with the ability to learn, grow, change his beliefs and walk away.Should that be the American Way?I wish not.

But theres one problem: This ending is not as convenient as the other one.WHY? Somehow it seems that being chosen by God to cure / save (americanize?) those poor bastards or kill them in the process- is A LOT more politically correct these Bush days, than: hey, maybe YOU are the bad guy here, getting into our homes, killing what you dont understand. mmmdoes IRAK ring any bell?

Hey guys, wake up!This is the REAL ending of the movie: the whole picture is driven to THIS point the daughters recurrent mention of the butterfly, the intelligence of the trap-setter darkseekers, the bond between the leader and the mutant girl he puts his face into the sun for her- etc, etc.)In fact Neville IS LEGEND because he is the mutants Bogeyman. (look at the pictures of his victims on the wall), and you will never get it unless you watch THIS ending.

has anyone read the book? much better than the film, and the film butchered the book, seriously it did. they've changed everything! the only thing the same is the name!

ya i liked this ending way more...the other one pissed me off cuz he could hav thrown the grenadethrew the hole in the glass and probably survived or had a better chance at least |
