Yes, some of the footage is from that great moment. The words in this version come from the immediate postwar period.

Tis a cool anthemI don't agree with orwellian states like the USSR but i HATE how 'socialist' is used as a curse word in america. Here's me thinking money was the root of all people...

I was looking up in the CIA World Fact book (an American Government Source, in case you didn't know) and it showed that aggregates and lumber exports made up less than 1% of your economy. Huh, I guess the government and world economy would disagree... Weird. As for agriculture. I'll admit, you got me there. The world's largest agricultural subsidies belong to the U.S.A and they are quite successful at producing produce. Subsidized just like the Soviet Union.

Your right, there is something I don't understand. Horrible health care system, low literacy rates, high-infant mortality, high personal debt, highest capital punishment rate, high crime rate (facts according to the UN, and the U.S.A Government). As well as, dwindling natural resources (find me some domestic oil reserves). Our how about long-lasting sources of fresh water that are safe (Michigan is nearly not save). My question is simply: What is so great? And I don't even like Soviet Russia.

but for how long can you export your lumber or swallow up all the worlds oil. americas founded on quicksand thats full of ticking time bombs.

>>Has the least valuable natural resources (no oil, water, limited lumber reserves, limited construction aggregates). Uh... yeah. You've no idea what you're talking about. We're a major exporter of lumber and concrete (especially to China and Japan), agriculture ($100B a year), and more.Nobody is requiring you to be loyal to America because you're black, but I'm part black, and I like America (for all its flaws) because it is indeed the best country on the planet.

You don't. Which is the point, if you're what they consider a dirty foreigner from, say, the Ukraine. If you have money, of course, anything is possible. The system is quite intentional. |
