Dude, I'm a soundengineer myself, this effect is called distortion and is created by amplifying the original song over 0dB when clippin occurs. You even hear the other sounds of the music pushed away by her voice (at 1:32 for example), because there isn't enough "headroom" in the soundfile. So really, it's NOT on purpose.Just admit you were wrong and listen to a version that doesn't have this distortion. Personally, I can't listen to this over-amplified recording because of the distortion.
