the only way to land, if anyone is around to watch. and then simply shrug it off

Some interesting reading about Udet is in Jimmy Doolittle's autobiograpy. They were good friends and visited as often as they could. He loved to target practice in his apartment with a pistol!

Great flying ! Good energy management. Like Bob Hoover's routines.

I shot down Ernst in WW1 flight simulator games such as Knights of the Sky and Red Baron

Though he was the man approving production of the Ju 87, after having flown the Curtiss F6 in US in early 1931. Not really being a clerktype, he also flew in a mock dogfight with the jetfighter Heinkel He 280 summer 1941. But disliked his life with the nazi-regime so much that he ended it November 17, 1941.

Ernst was an amazing talent in the air and a great gentleman at all times. That pig fatso Hermann and his nazi ilk broke his spirit and it was more than his honor could endure.

Udet was a decent guy. The Nazis drove him to suicide.
