Yea, that has nothing to do with what i said. I just said that if some of the really high notes were played perfectly it would sound cheesy. The struggle for those high notes give alot of emotion. Whether it is a mistake or not i don't really care. All that matters is what i hear.

it's called interpretation, and it's what seperates the best from the rest. I am pretty sure any mistakes made in this piece are minor.

I'm not a trumpeter either, but I think jazz performers in general take pride in perfecting this form of playing, with deliberate "flaws" which aren't really all that deliberate at all, and are actually pretty difficult to control (as apposed to just making mistakes!)

personally like the recording he had for a thousand kisses deep. i want to play this arrangement for my nysma solo. but i need a lvl six for al state jazz

yeah, i definately see where you're coming from, i mean... he's incredible in everything else. And you're right, if he had bolted those high notes out it probably would have sounded cheesy.

You know what, i'm not a trumpet player. But I thought some of the high notes he hit, that weren't "perfect" and sounded shaky. Well i think it gives his playing even more emotion. If it was all technicly perfect, I think it would almost sound cheesy. But thats' just me.

I mean I agree with bthrun90... something sounds off kilter and pls don't give me any pseudo technical analysis. It is just an opinion
