I'm a bachelor in my small studio apartment and I couldn't be much happier. it's all about spiritual awakening, not "stuff". "Things" will NEVER do it. Thank you, brother! Andrew

I think you may be, sir. The thing is, it's ALL in your head. Always. That 'one interesting variant' - perception, is always available to us. And when it's employed regularly, it's not as necessary to change everybody else's perception.Great video, Mr. Lorax sir!

And in some cases, it's not who you know, it's who know you! :)

It's just ... relatively (bell-curve distribution) and rat-race-ively ... harder to achieve.

Yes, i admire your point of view. Instead of changing the income you can alter the perception of your current fortune. That is one interesting variant - but - I would like to point out that, if you want it to work, you would have to change everybody else's perception as well. Please tell me if I am completely out and misinformed :P

You are comparing today's 'wealth' with yesterday's dollars. This doesn't work. Yesterday's 'ounce of silver' needs to be translated into today. The value of an ounce of silver may be equivalent to $1 Million today (just an example). The cost of food and housing today is likely only slightly less costly than 2000 years ago.Instead, you should be referring to a 'standard of living' not money wealth. However, we still have to work to maintain our standard - just like our ancestors.

Trying to convince a person of such a thing, will most often be seen as an insult to their intelligence. Perhaps rightfully so, they'll feel that your trying to convince them that they should exist like one being blissfully ignorant of their immediate surroundings. Due to only considering a world that is no more immediately present than it would be if it existed only in a book of tales.

The thing is that its normal for people to compare their own situation to that of the immediate, surrounding society. Not to the situation of those in the past, or even in the present but in a 3rd world country. Any financial status can be determined only by relative comparison to another. In any case, its difficult to convince anyone that they should feel content. Since after having compared their situation to that of those living in another world, has shown them to posses much more. |
