it was unfair to hit him on the ground when hes out even though its part of mma/ufc, but i think he did the rite thing to wait for reff, thats what most do in sport, even if it's a bad call, pretty fucked up really.

He's fine, he's not dead. I think he suffered a Grade 3 concussion which is pretty severe and he would have had no idea where he was. That as well as having a broken jaw
