In normal driving you should recirculate the air after the air flow meter to avoid your car overfueling. If you vent to atmosphere the dumped air has already passed the airflow meter, but the ECU thinks it will be going into the engine so provides more fuel. When racing, because you change gear as fast as you possibly can, the throttle is only closed momentarily so as you say it doesnt make much difference.

think u will find the fastest 13b in aus uses turbosmart....... u know why... cause it works and urs dont it dont matter anyway u live in ur fantasy world mate i dont even run a bov on my starlet just a 50mm raceport on the supra and that lack of knowlage hmmmmi own a 340hp atw starlet gt and a 750 hp supra with a t51r that runs high 10's on street tyres best part is.. i built em myself that must b a total lack of knowlage in anyones books
