This is "The March of Time", a musical that was never completed! So sad. Thanks!

I presume they are Beth and Betty Dodge, who played major theatres in the U.S. around the time of this film. In December 1930 they played the N.Y. Orpheum.

Another example of the now-forgotten dance craze songs seen in other very early musicals like this one. This really is visually striking and not so static and boring as a lot of the other such pieces from this time are. "Start croonin' the jailhouse wail!"

Forerunner of "Chicago"!

I guess this clip inspired Elvis Presley to make "Jail House Rock" clip from the movie with the same name, it was great as well.

The Dodge Twins, a sister act who were probably in the vaudeville cicuit at the time, this is their only film appearance that I know of.

Anyone know who the dancers were? Great number, and the moving camera was an extra surprise in such an early film. Sexy dancing jailbirds...doesn't get much better than this!
