Absolutely! I just saw him together with The Polish Chamber Orcestra, on TV though! He has more true qualitys than any other artist i know. He is emotional, passioned, charming and have a marvelous contact with the audience -and the orcestra, even makes small "air-kisses" to the ladies if the melody is right. His technique is the best, I think. Sometimes the notes are even "out of order", just to glide into "perfect" tones.. He playes with more feelings than any other i know of :)

BWV = Bach Werk Verzeichnis (Back Work Catalogue), an index of Bach's works, compiled in the mid-20th Century by Wolfgang Schmieder. More than a thousand works are catalogued. This piece "Erbarme dich, mein Gott" ("Have mercy, God") is an aria from BWV244, the "St Matthew Passion". The original is a "duet" between a plaintive violin melody (here played almost as Bach wrote it) and a related vocal line sung by an alto, which is here largely given to the oboe. |
