Sorry DrBeardo, I was just speaking about the current generation of video cards running Crysis. I am amazed how much the HD 4870 that I purchased one two nights ago and waiting for it to arrive. You are correct, it does beat all other nVidia products except for the GT280 but it isn't trying to be the same category as that card. It is cheaper, has a better frame per dollar cost, and is a great card for $300 which you can't beat.

You're kidding right? the HD4870 beats the 8800GTX/Ultra, 8800GTS 512(G82) 9800GTX and even the 9800GX2 and sometimes even the GTX260, more often then not by a good 20FPS+ margin, the only nvidia card that can consistently beat the D4870 is the GTX280, but that card sells for around $650 compared to the $300 for the HD4870, for that price get 2 HD4870 and gt even more performance then the GTX280 for $50 less. Go look at the reviews on any site, the HD4 series is the best bang for the $ right now

If you download RivaTuner then you can max out the fan and then these temps aren't so scary any more ;) (but this fan will make much noise)

No you do not need to upgrade your motherboard, PCI-E 2.0 was devolped with forwoard compatibility in mind relative to PCI-E 2.0. For example I've got a (PCI-E 2.0)Radeon HD 3870 running my PCI-E motherboard with no problems.

hI, i have a motherboard with PCi-E 1 but not 2. And it has 2 PCi-E so that I can use Crossfire or SLi, So please advice me what is difference between these 1 and 2. Do I need to upgrade?

Just buy a new heatsink/fan for it
