oh my god! what a piece of crap....beautiful cinematography (wasted on this bunkum) and an interesting story idea, but still a piece of shit at the end of the day...horrible characters and dirty hankerchief dialogue...greenaway should grow up and disappear up his own arse like the rare bird in carry on up the jungle...if you think this is art then you need therapy

It's a little too long and repetitive, and the script is filled with profanity, which gets to be redundant and beneath Greenaway as a writer. But like all his films, the visuals are breathtaking. The love story at the center is also surprisingly moving for a Greenaway picture.

Finally saw the film. Flawed, no doubt, but overall quite enjoyable and Greenaway's best work in a LONG time. Martin Freeman is outstanding.
