This is my life. The life of my family and friends in Paterson, NJ. Thank you for this. I have sent it to my children. My Grandma would have eaten them up!

I loved your video; it took me back to when I was a kid. Its a shame that no mater how much we try to preserve our heritage. It will end with our generation. The things that we all grew up with and loved; our grandchildren will never know. I still have holidays dinners at my home, and hope every one will show to enjoy the food and being family and friends; I know in my heart that when I go its over in my family. Maybe a little is just lost with each generation, who knowsJohn

I found the part about gardens really interesting, since most Italian Americans are the descendents of the contadini of Southern Italy... Basilicata and Calabria in particular have terrain completely unsuitable for agriculture and southern Italians desperately worked that land for centuries if only to just stave off starvation. In a sense, the gardens that they grew in the United States might be seen as a farewell to hard times in Italy.

The Greek Americans documantary is all about how the Greeks really started it all. An unsurpassed culture that no one could surpass. The Italians didnt even come close, even though they tried.
