In the original one Humpty Dumpty was an egg like being, that once he fell, he "cracked" and the supposedly pieces of "egg" fell on the ground. Th Kings horses and the Kings Men were supposed to gather up the pieces of Humpty Dumpty and try to put them together. But as there wasnt a "sticky substance" in those days in which the rhyme was created, they could not put Humpty Dumpty together again.Hope that has aswered your question. LOOOL !! My Prof. att my college brought this to class like 4 days ago. IT WAS SOOOO FUNNYWe were like: wtf ? Turns out this "humty dumty" character was a satire of a canon from i cant remember where. It was fun to see my classmates mumbling the rythim afterwards. LOL
