Man I miss this. There are too many teams now. It used to be fun to be a Habs hater, or a Bruins hater. But at least you KNEW the guys. Helmets or not you knew your team, and most of the others, too. C'mon Gary Bettman, downsize everything. The league, the ice surface, the equipment. Especially the equipment!! Sorry, I started to ramble there...

Having a hard time staying on topic? No-one's disputing the result of THIS particular fight. I only point out that Bouchard routinely beat Jonathan previously to it. Yep, Bruins were "Big and Bad" throughout the '70's...they were annual fodder too...heh heh. ; )

Looks to me like Bochard had HIS hands full with a guy that he out weighed and was quite a bit taller than. And yes, I was around then to see not only Jonathan but Green, Wensink, O'Reilly, Miller and many other Bruins destroy a series of Hab "tough guys"

Looks to me like he had his hands full with both hands and feet at his disposal. Were YOU alive in the late '70's??
habsrus (September 29, 2008 at 3:27 pm)
So, because of YOUR inability to "find them", you deem ME a "toehead"? LOL..brilliant logic. Were you even alive in the late '70's?
neilyoungster (September 29, 2008 at 2:00 pm)
You dick. Jonathan could have taken Bouchard with both hands tied behind his back and no legs.

Few note that in that series Jonathan and Bouchard fought 5 OTHER times with Bouchard earning DECISIVE victories. Now, in THIS particualr fight Jonathan had JUST stepped onto the ice whereas Bouchard had just finished a rather lengthy shift (none of this 30sec shifts we see today; in the 70's shifts were over 1min.) A classic David/Goliath match with David winning and getting ALL the press. Again, Bouchard pounded him MOST of this series. |
