The Scots have long had a tradition as some of the finest soldiers in the world. The Romans recruited heavily in Caledonia and among Celts because of their ferocity and their fighting prowess but the Scots became well known for their willingness for a fight and their skill which is why they are often considered elite military units. And the pipes, put it this way, the English outlawed their use on the battlefield because of their effect on the Scots in battle. Alba Gu Brath!

y on earth not? have you ever heard of the highland charge? if not thats where scotsmen charged entire formations of the english troops who had muskets with only a buckler and broadsword. it won them many a fight and also i think its earned them the title "brave" dont u?
