You're right! I agree with you on that. But we should also keep in mind that Bartoli is an outstanding Mozart interpretor too... I only wish they lived in the same epoch... he would have probably written more music that is suitable for mezzo's (and probably even alto's...)

yees!!! it's true. I thought the same thing when I first heared this recording. But I personally think that Dessay is the Mozartian Soprano, she has the voice that (in my opinion) Mozart would have chosen for his pieces. Despite this, I love Both voices.Wish you the best!!!!Federico from Argentina.

Bartoli sounds as perfect as always! But I don't like Dessay in this recording... she sounds too "light"... they seem like the antitheses of one another... No offence to all the Dessay lovers (I know they are many... but I've never been one of them I guess...)

They're very good! Dessay is my favourite opera singer. Hope to go on her concert or masterclasses

Well Dessay isn´t exactly "present" anymore regarding Aspasia! :-(The voice never was or will be dramatic enough for Aspasia. (She only sang this role in the studio, didn´t she?!) |
