I've only heard this. It was claimed in a show I watched (about the best World Cup Goals) that he was shouting "Tardelli!" in the style of a football commentator, the way kids do.

Conti was a legend, but Donadoni was very underrated in his own time. But Italy has always relied on fullbacks to provide width, so it's not such a big deal that there haven't been any Italian wingers of note in the past decade.
