America was in the war for a year before Casablanca came out, and preparations for D-Day were already in motion. However, it certainly served to galvanize a nation--nay, a world--to the cause of the French. Call it "propaganda" if you must, and remember, the right to label it propaganda--perhaps your life--exist because of such patriotic film. France stood by America in her times of need, and the favor has been and will be returned again; our brotherhood is forged in blood. Viva La France.

Une scène vraiment superbe. On a beau râler contre Hollywood et les âneries qu'ils débitent, ils ont produit des chefs d'œuvre universels. Ce film en est un.L'émotion de cette Marseillaise me rappelle celle de la Grande Illusion, avec les Anglais et les Russes dans le camp de prisonniers. J'ai vu des Américains pleurer en la voyant

Scènes incroyables! Drôle et décisive : le véritable tournant du film! Qu'est-ce qu'ils étaient bien fait ces films de propagandes; surement ont-ils réellement contribuer à l'entrée en guerre des États-Unis
