Who cares what Pele says any more? He is just a spokesperson for FIFA & says whatever they want him to. Obviously a truly great player but he has become a joke since his playing days with some of the things he has said. Maradona was an absolute different class to everyone else. Read what his peers say about him at the time. Gullit was one of the best players of his era, Van Basten maybe the best striker ever, but Diego was on his own at the top. oh please!! don't mention,zidane,kaka,ronaldinho?? in the same vein as Gullit!! Ruud was the most complete player football has seen in many many years!! he could do everything!! and he had everything!! power on both feet,good ball skills,supreme in the air,speed, power,a lethal finish! he could score goals,and make goals! I laugh when people try and compare players from today to him! Maybe u just wish there was a player like him today! Sad truth is Ruud is a very rare kind!!Top 10 of all time!

Ruud Gullit: my favorit football player! He+Rijkaard+Van Basten =best ever trio for a team and that team was AC Milan! I remember even now the 1989 European Championship Final between AC Milan and Steaua Bucharest: in the same room (in Craiova, RO), watching TV: my dad was supporting Steaua (as a RO team); me:yealling, kissing TV each time Gullit was scoring and when AC Milan won against Steaua with 4-0 I reached the sky! A simply wonderful memory! Since then, I'm a fan of AC Milan and Holland!

Forgot to mention Beckenbauer+Neeskens=Frank Rijkaard. And Pele+Kempes=van Basten. Dutch & Italian football was the best in the early 90s
