Philip Johnson has said (also in conversation with Charlie Rose) that he has projects he needs to get done in order to..see whether they are any good or not. See, you cant see a model and say thats a beautiful building. Doesnt make any sense at all. You got to build a building and go inside it, and have it wrap itself around you. You see, thats the only test.

My criticism of Zaha Hadid is that, in the case of her designs never to be built, we dont really know whether the buildings would be live up to her original designs. Winning competitions is one thing, but realizing and making a lasting achievement like Frank Gehrys Bilbao Guggenheim is another. One of the challenges of being an architect is working with a team to think of inventive ways to realize the structure in a practical, material sense.

this woman is inspirational especially because shes from my country and she came here and started a great life for herself i hope to achieve a quater of what she has, her work is amazing and i cant wait to meet her one day

I really wish Rose had asked her some more complex questions about her work, it sort of seems like he was taking it easy. I would have liked to hear more on her practice instead of just how she feels about being a successful woman architect. Especially since she obviously has something more to say.

zaha hadid is my biggest inspiration in interior design and after meething her this summer on a one on one interview was the biggest thing for me yet. her work is simply futuristic and in this day n age people need to see her work and get involved in making them happen in real... most of her work has been based in london but she is one of the only global archys that have successfully made an impact on the world.. today and the years to come... ^.^
