This song is on volume 1 of a double CD "The Very Best of Lucia Popp". I think you can still buy this great CD from Amazon. If you want the individual songs try itunes store search "Grieg" "Lucia Popp".

I agree. When I paint, there is a lot of visual information I can see that determines how I interpret nature. But the music composers create, like this piece, comes from within. How they determine what things should sound like, how the instruments blend is, to me, miraculous.

One thing I will never understand. You can paint a picture of hills, trees, sun, water, I understand, but how did people like Grieg write a song to fill listeners with images and feelings from nature, from his beautiful homeland? This is genius, what a beautiful piece is this.
