The whole state of Iowa was affected by the flood and it is a tragedy. Do not mix political views with this tragedy. The hard working men and women of Iowa will recover irregardless of help from the local, state or federal governments. We have the resolve to overcome any hardship. As a citizen of the state of Iowa we are the ones called upon to help our neighbors. This was an act of God and has nothing to do with the Governor or President. Both are doing all they can to help.

Sorry for not conveying the magnitude of this flood. I heard one official that during the peak flow, the Cedar River had enough volume of water that the Mississippi river would have at FLOOD STAGE in Davenport, Iowa. That is a mammoth flood - where it reached nearly 31 feet when the previous RECORD stage was 20.5 feet. That's 50% greater than the previous record. It was well beyond the official 500 year flood stage. I will research more data to let people know how large this flood was.

I hope not since they live near a Major River without Flood Insurance. With this recession, let me now how may years it takes you to rebuild. Everyone has to be tight with their money. God Help You!

I'll send them a Flag. It's the White Dumb Man who elected this Bozo of a President.

I think its amazing that this video was made. It shows the support for our country and where OUR beliefs are. I THANK whoever made this video as one of the MANY who lost everything, I lost my house, my job and all personal belongings. But I thank GOD that I have my life, freedom and my family.

Almost 9,000 people are homeless and over a billion dollars in damage has been wrecked, with 20 percent of Iowa's crop (that the rest of the nation depends upon) is gone, and your concern is about the flags?I have pride, and family in Cedar Rapids, and I am amazed at how quickly these warm-hearted and loving people have pulled themselves together. My 9 year old cousin gave her birthday present from her parents as a donation to the Red Cross. Please be more considerate of your comments. |
