Wel, I'm no admirer of Cura but as far as operatic acting is concerned - this is best I have seen in over 40 years of attending performances. And the voice - for all what people say - is very good. I'm sorry, but this is a very good performance.

Waltraud Meier and Jose Cura are marvelous in this scene.The scenery, conducting and stage direction are great, too. Kudos to all involved.

I actually think his acting is not bad - old fashioned maybe but good for that reason. He is Cura, so what? when one has a presence as he does (even if he just stood there) does it matter.... |
