That is true, Falcon pilots were only told to engage air craft that are still on the ground or about to take off. This was happening in the gulf war of 1990. That is mostly why today in America, people consider f-16 to be better...in my opinion f-15, f-18 and Mig-29 and Su-27 are at about the same level, and f-16 is a piece of trash.

Awesome video, i would really like to fly it or IL76 with zero G in the future. Is it true that u will be allowed to pilot the plane for a short time? I mean Mig not IL76 :D I heard it somewhere, i think it was with mig 25 flight. And btw which one flies higher? I mean with a tourist flight.

oops, sory bout that, didnt undersatand what you said, but yeah, compared with the Su-30MKI and F22, its out gunned, but in the range of the F-16,15, and 18....its another story. Ive heard people say that Falcon pilots were told not to engage the mig29 in a dogfight...dont know if its true, but thats what ive heard. Still, I to love the mig, from the 23 to the 31

its only obsolete in the eyes of americans and Nato countries, to them the Mig29S or SMT or even Su30MKI are far better. Youd think that the russians are holding off more than they are letting us know with there non stealthy planes, but I think they have something far more sinister up there sleeves. Like for instance, that are one of few I know that are making large jumps in IRST and other means to defeat stealth I wouldnt be surprised if they made anti radiation missiles on there radars.

Forget those who bag the Mig-29, and forget those who jump up and down saying it beats Yankee stuff. The fact is that YOU my friend have been up there in the 'blue-yonder' in one. And I bet that has to be one of the most awesome experiences you have ever had in your life! Hat's off to you mate for having the balls to go up in one. Those memories will no doubt last forever...

Mig-29 Mach 2.28, F-15 Mach 2.5+. The Mig 29 is more in the class of F/A-18, and F-16. Their speed at similar altitude is F/A-18 Mach 1.8, F-16 Mach 2.0. The Brit Tornado 2.16, Mirage Mach 2.2+. The Hornet, and Falcon are able to carry roughly 100,000 more kg's of weapons, they have shorter take off runs(include the Mirage on this one), and the Mirage climbs faster. I am a fan of them all, but the 29 is not nearly the best(even in its own country). Those were the numbers in '90, still though.

This is a very good aircraft, but it is not in the league of the F-22, and Sukhoi 37 Terminator. The two newer planes are other worldly compared. Thrust vectoring, advanced avionics, the ability to handle smarter weapons, and more reliability makes this craft obsolete. I still like the Mig 29 though.

id take any kind of Mig over any kind of F-series.Mig are the vilains of airplanes...just like the rotary powered cars ... and i love both !! |
