They wouldn't, according to all the witnesses and all the evidence all Eric said to Cassie was peekaboo. Her being asked if she believed in God was a rumor that was proven a myth nearly a decade ago. Valeen Schnurr was the one asked that question and she is alive and well to this day.

this song was written about columbine high school shooting back in 1999 and 2guys came to school with a gun and asked cassie if she belived in god and she said yes and the guy shoot her in the head and then she died

Cassie didn't know the answer and she didn't ever think she would have to answer it to make or break her life, she answered yes and shall be in heaven forever. Think about it for a minute.
