GaiaKing, many others love fado, even without being able to understand the words. We may also love the Russian bard-singers, Irish singers in Gaelic and many African languages.111oldie - the guitarrone is well-known also in the Mexican mariachi bands and they brought it to the Philippines, where you can still hear it in a few folk-groups.

Yes I love fado very much, I headr her singing in Oporto, at that time it was a restaurant "Mal cuzinado"..pls forgive me I just write the phonetic way - I forgot nearly all - I learned Portuguese.

Hi, Amalia is just great! I heard her more than 30 years ago in Oporto, Portugal.I love this kind of singing and her songs.Pls listen to "Cancao do mar" - yo will see that special big portuguese-guitar - which gives that unique sound to the music.

I was directed to this song by a portugese friend of mine, I wanted to learn about portugese culture all I knew was that it was a major power during the age of exploration, but now I know it has the longest alliance out of all the alliance in the world with Britain. Very interesting song I rather liked it. Five stars from a brit. |
